Workshop Know Your Camera 2: The Lens (2 days 8 hours)

With some manual mode time under the students' belt, this two-day class will build on Know Your Camera 1, introducing them to using the camera as a visual storytelling tool. This workshop will review Know Your Camera 1, then introduce Knowing Your Lenses, the technology behind them, the power of lens selection, and how lenses impact your art and visual storytelling. Many famous photographers used a single focal length lens for their entire careers; many used a 50 mm. We will cover some inexpensive apps to help with your photographic journey and understanding of lenses, f-stops, depth of field, and hyper focal distance.  Fixed length versus zoom, macro. Lenses will be your biggest investment.

Day two of this workshop will be marrying the lens and the camera for specific photographic use. And hands-on use of different lenses.
