This foundational photography workshop is more than just the review of camera technologies: exposure triangle: Shutter, Aperture, and ISO. Every modern camera has an “easy auto program button’ and using this mode can capture a very good image. This workshop will be a journey with a fully manual mode and settings. The class will be challenging but fun. This introductory class is how your camera settings influence your art and visual storytelling. Just as the brush, knife, and paint selection influence the painting.
This two-day primer will introduce the effects of natural, flash/strobes, and fixed lighting on your image. We will touch on composition, focus, and visual storytelling. This workshop is the foundation for the remaining workshops Sapphire will be offering and is highly recommended for beginners and a great review for intermediate-level photographers. On your own assignments to use these newfound skills, you will be given the results to be reviewed by the instructor with a critique for improvements.
Vast amount to cover in this foundational class requires a part two of Know Your Camera. Part two of "Know Your Camera " will be more in-depth and will prepare for all class offerings.
What’s needed? A digital camera with manual mode and, ideally, interchangeable lenses, though not completely necessary. A camera
